Kingsbridge: Tandem Trailer Stuck under Elevated Subway for Hours
A tandem tractor-trailer recently got trapped under the elevated subway in Kingsbridge for several hours, as police and fire units blocked off traffic in the area and two dozen MTA employees attempted to free the truck with minimal damage to the subway line. According to an unnamed MTA official, the incident took place at 10:42 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at the intersection of Broadway and West 231st Street. A 58-year-old scooter driver is in critical condition in hospital and a second 60-year-old male scooter driver was also injured after a collision in the South Bronx involving two scooters and an MTA bus on the morning of Juneteenth, June 19. Regular riders of the Bx12 bus who complain that most days the buses are crowded, and that there are not enough of them can look to the latest findings from both the Metropolitan Transportation Administration (MTA) and NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) for confirmation. Officials from both agencies updated residents and Bronx Community Board 7’s Traffic & Transportation committee at the last committee meeting before the summer break on Thursday, June 1. Reading from a slide show presentation, one official said, “The Bx12 is the busiest bus route in The Bronx, and second busiest in NYC after the M15.”
Allerton: Man Sought following Assault on MTA Employee aboard BX12 Bus
The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached photo who is sought in connection with an assault that occurred in Allerton. Police said that on Monday, May 8, at around 3.35 p.m. a person got into a dispute with a 42-year-old, on-duty MTA employee, on a BX12 bus in the vicinity of Williamsbridge Road and Pelham Parkway. Wakefield: Three Women Sought following Assault on MTA Employee
The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help identifying the three people seen in the attached photo who police say are sought in connection with an assault that occurred in Wakefield.
