UPDATE Man Found Deceased at Bedford Park Blvd Subway Station

Police confirm a man was found deceased at Bedford Park Boulevard-Lehman College subway station, which serves the number 4 line, in the early hours of Tuesday, Feb. 22.   An NYPD spokesperson told Norwood News an unidentified man was observed by a witness at around 1.40 a.m. on Tuesday morning, lying on the roadbed of the southbound 4 train, at Bedford Park Boulevard-Lehman College subway station, located in the 52nd precinct and transit district 11. UPDATE MTA: BX10 Bus Stop on E Gun Hill Road and Bainbridge Ave Temporarily Closed until March 26

  A flyer posted to the bus stop at East Gun Hill Road and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood indicates that there is a temporary closure of the stop for the Bx10 bus (westbound) from Dec. 27, 2021 to March 26, 2022.     Photos show a heavy amount of snow surrounding the stop.   Norwood News reached out to the MTA for more information about the suspension, and were informed that they do not manage bus stops but suggested to contact NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) or NYC Department of Design & Construction (DDC) as the closure may be due

MTA to Retire 1960s Era “Brightliner” R-32 Subway Cars, Invites Public for Farewell Rides on D Line

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced on Dec. 18 that, after 58 years of service, a fleet of subway cars known as the R-32s, nicknamed the Brightliners, and which are among the oldest subway cars to operate in the world, will officially retire from service.
