Lehman College Receives $1 Million for Lecture Hall Renovations from BP Capital Funding Budget

Lehman College has received a $1 million allocation in city capital funding through Bronx Borough President Rubén Díaz Jr.’s office to upgrade several of its most heavily used lecture halls. The funding was authorized July 1 as part of New York City’s $98.7 billion budget for fiscal year 2022. It will cover the costs of lighting, power, heating, and ventilation system upgrades and new furniture and equipment for six lecture halls, five in Carman Hall, and one in Gillet Hall, that serve more than 1,140 students. Lehman College Vaccination Site As reported, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is available at the Lehman College vaccination site, located at the APEX Athletic Center, 250 Bedford Park Boulevard West. The site is open to New Yorkers aged 16 or older, as well as to non-New York City residents aged 16 or older who work or study in the city. Eligible individuals aged 50 and over may walk-in without making an appointment, as long as they’re able to show proof of age. Employees and students at the City University of New York (CUNY) held a noisy, caravan-style protest on Jan. 30, in opposition to ongoing cuts and lay-offs which have affected both students and faculty alike.
