Late Lehman College Faculty Member, David Carroll Fletcher, is Fondly Remembered

Representatives of Lehman College said they are deeply saddened to announce the passing of David Carroll Fletcher, a longtime faculty member in the college’s school of education. They said Fletcher was part of the Lehman family for over two decades and served as an assistant professor in the Department of Middle and High School Education. The faculty member died at his home in Mount Vernon on Sept. 12 at the age of 73, according to an announcement by college officials. Lehman College is launching its own school of business, expanding what college officials say is one of its largest departments, Economics and Business, into a School of Business on July 1 and making it the only business school at any public college in The Bronx or Westchester Counties. Lehman College student, Sera Janneh, 27, was among the 17 victims of the Twin Parks North West residential building fire which broke out on Sunday, Jan. 9, in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx. Janneh was a sophomore at Lehman and was majoring in psychology and minoring in early childhood education.
