Elected Officials Join BronxNet for Formal Opening of New Studio in the South Bronx

  BronxNet, the public TV network which serves the borough, has expanded its operations to include a new location in the South Bronx at 441 Westchester Avenue. Officially named the BronxNet Media + Technology Studios at La Central, it is a short walk from the Hub, the commercial heart of the South Bronx at Third Avenue and East 149th Street.   Elected officials joined network executives and personalities for the ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 11. 2023 Lehman College Commencement Celebrates Diverse Paths to Higher Education

  Karla Cabrera Carrera, the former assistant district manager of Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7), was elected as the new district manager for the board during CB7’s general board meeting held April 27. Manhattan Man Charged with Murder of Man & Woman Shot and Left in Burning Car

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on March 9 that a Manhattan man has been charged with kidnapping, murder and other charges for shooting two people in a car, setting it on fire, and incinerating them on Shore Road in Pelham Split Rock Course in Pelham Bay Park in the East Bronx in May 2022, as reported.   Clark said, “The deaths of these two young people allegedly culminated a chain of violent events in Manhattan and Queens. “Buckets for the Bronx: 3v3 Tourney” Held at Lehman College

A free 3v3 basketball tournament: Buckets for the Bronx: 3v3 Community Classic for Bronx teens was held at the Apex Center at Lehman College on Saturday, Feb. 25. The event was organized by local community members, Jessica Altagracia Woolford, founder of Kingsbridge Unidos, and Haramritjot Singh, founder of Cash Cow NYC.   The tournament was open to local high school students aged 14-18 of all genders. It was free to enter and winners earned prizes, including three tickets to a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, various cash prizes, two dozen brand-new Spalding basketballs, and exclusive Cash Cow NYC merchandise.

Bronx Opera Presents Hart’s “Lady in the Dark” at Lehman College, Music & Lyrics by Weill & Gershwin
