NYC DOT Sells Limited Batch of Authentic “Rivera Avenue” Street Signs in Advance of World Series

NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner Ydanis Rodriguez announced on Friday, Oct. 25, a “shock drop” of 25 limited edition Rivera Avenue street signs ahead of the New York Yankees’ World Series appearance against the former Brooklyn Dodgers. The intersection of River Avenue and 161st Street, which is next to Yankee Stadium, is co-named Rivera Avenue for New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera.

Norwood: HPD Launches Housing Lottery Described as Affordable at 3056 Decatur Avenue

NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD) has launched a housing lottery described as affordable at 3056 Decatur Avenue, a four-story residential building in the Norwood section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. Designed by Node Architecture, Engineering, Consulting, and developed by Zef Perperpaj, the structure will yield nine residential units.

UPDATE Fordham Heights: Teacher Shot inside Classroom a day before Start of School Year

A male teacher has been released from hospital after he was shot inside a Fordham Heights school on Wednesday morning, police said. No school children were present at the time of the shooting. The school, M.S. 391, The Angelo Patri School, located on the campus of X225 Theatre Arts Production Company School at 2190 Folin Street, is next to Twin Park towers, the site of the January 2022 fatal fire, in which 17 people died, including 8 children, mostly of Gambian descent.

Child Who Suffered Cardiac Arrest Back at Church

A week after paramedics transferred a 2-year-old girl who the FDNY said had suffered a cardiac arrest to hospital during a church service in Kingsbridge Heights, the pastor of Iglesia Cristiana Tabernaculo de Gracia [The Christian Church of the Tabernacle of Grace] told Norwood News that the child was doing fine and was back at church.
