The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached photo who they say is wanted in connection with a groping incident that occurred on the border of Fordham Heights and Mt. Hope last month.

Bronx Afterschool Programs Celebrate Lights On After School

The nonprofit, Good Shepherd Services, announced on Thursday, Oct. 24, that the afterschool programs at three Fordham Heights schools, P.S. 386, the School for Environmental Citizenship at Creston Acdemy, M.S. 447, also at Creston Academy, and P.S. 279, Captain Manuel Rivera, Jr., recently celebrated the “Lights On Afterschool” initiative, a nationwide program launched in October 2000, to showcase the importance and impact of afterschool programs.

NY Lottery: Two Top Prize-Winning Tickets Sold in The Bronx

The New York Lottery announced on Oct. 23 that multiple top-prize winning tickets were sold for the Oct 22 Take 5 midday drawing. The tickets were sold at Prayosha Pharmacy Corp, located at 54 East 183rd Street in The Bronx, which sold one prize-winning ticket worth $5,856, and at Brentwood Pharmacy located at 761 Suffolk Avenue in Brentwood, which sold two prize-winning tickets worth $5,856 each. 

UPDATE Three Men Murdered in 4 Days of Each Other a Few Blocks Apart

Two murder investigations are underway after a 35-year-old man was shot dead in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx and within 7 hours, a 32-year-old man was also shot dead in Fordham Heights. One of the fatal victims is from University Heights, the other from Morris Heights. 

UPDATE Fordham Heights: Teacher Shot inside Classroom a day before Start of School Year

A male teacher has been released from hospital after he was shot inside a Fordham Heights school on Wednesday morning, police said. No school children were present at the time of the shooting. The school, M.S. 391, The Angelo Patri School, located on the campus of X225 Theatre Arts Production Company School at 2190 Folin Street, is next to Twin Park towers, the site of the January 2022 fatal fire, in which 17 people died, including 8 children, mostly of Gambian descent.
