“How dare he!” said Democratic U.S. Vice President Kamala during a “Fight for Reproductive Freedom” tour in Wisconsin on Jan. 22, in reference to former U.S. President and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. “He’s proud to have terminated abortion rights,” Harris said, referencing when Trump said he was proud to have overturned Roe Vs. Wade. Indeed, Trump has bragged about how during his presidency, he appointed three Supreme Court justices, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett, who made the repeal of the right to abortion access under Roe Vs. Wade, possible. 

Annual Latin Culture Carnival Takes Place in Kingsbridge Heights Amid Heatwave

The prevailing heatwave that saw temperatures soar to around 100 degrees last weekend didn’t stop around 50 residents from venturing out to enjoy the Annual Latin Culture Carnival [El Carnival de la Cultura Latina] which took place next to the Kingsbridge Amory on West 195th Street between Reservoir Avenue and Jerome Avenue on Sunday, June 23. 

Norwood Residents Hold Art Event in Support of Gaza in the Williamsbridge Oval

Bronx Neighbors for Palestine held a “Make Art to Let Gaza Live” event in the Williamsbridge Oval in Norwood, by the Reservoir Oval West entrance, on Sunday afternoon, June 9. The event was organized in efforts to raise awareness about the plight of everyday Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank amid the ongoing war with Israel.

Prosecutors Hold Gun Violence Summit at Fordham University

  With June marking Gun Violence Awareness Month, Prosecutors Against Gun Violence (PAGV), in partnership with the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA), held their annual conference for the first time in The Bronx, at Fordham University, in the jurisdiction and under the watchful eye of Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark, co-chair of PAGV, alongside City Attorney for Columbus, Ohio Zach Klein.   This year’s summit was centered on community restoration and gun violence prevention. With callbacks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the summit title was “Prosecutors and the Other Pandemic: Preventing Gun Violence, Restoring Communities.”   Prosecutors from around the country
