Cohen: Charging Station Needed in Norwood

Councilman Andrew Cohen has requested that the future come to Norwood through a proposed electric vehicle (EV) charging hub. Cohen drafted a proposal for Mayor Bill de Blasio on Jan. 10 having had his constituents in the 11th Council District express interest to be part of de Blasio’s plan to develop 100 new EV fast charging stations across the city in 2018. City Announces Hurricane Relief Efforts for Puerto Rico

City officials and members of the techno-pop music group Black Eyed Peas stood outside of FDNY’s EMS Station 26 on Boston Road, announcing New York City’s relief efforts for hurricane-torn Puerto Rico. Explosion at John F. Kennedy High School Injures Three

By DAVID CRUZ  A gas explosion was reported at John F. Kennedy High School in Marble Hill, injuring three people, one critically, according to fire officials. The evening blast happened just after 8pm in the building’s top floors. Seven employees were working on upgrades to the building’s science lab when one worker hit a gas main. All three were rushed to Jacobi Medical Center. “Incredibly loud, a scary scene,” said Mike Allan, a neighbor living just blocks from the school.
