Morrisania: 40-Year-Old Man Stabbed Dies

On Thursday, Jun. 11, 2020 at approximately 2:58 a.m., police responded to a 911 wellness check call at 379 East 169th Street within the confines of the 44th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 40-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple stab wounds throughout the body. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing. On Friday, May 29, 2020 at approximately 9:31 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of an aided male near the corner of Bolton Street and Pelham Parkway, within the confines of the 49th precinct. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 69-year-old male was removed from the location by EMS, and transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, with a laceration to the forehead, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing. The deceased has been identified as: Mejia, Cesar 69-year-old male 2190 Bolton Street

Police responded to a 911 call regarding a shooting on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at approximately 23:14 p.m. in the vicinity of West 190th Street and Webb Avenue, in the Fordham Manor area of the Bronx, within the confines of the 52nd precinct. Upon arrival at the scene, officers were informed that an 18-year-old male victim was shot during a verbal dispute. On Friday, May 15, 2020 at approximately 23:13 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a male who was shot at 380 East 201st Street, within the confines of the 52nd precinct. Upon arrival, officers found an unidentified adult male in his 20s, with gunshot wounds to the head and torso. EMS arrived at the location and transported the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, in critical condition. There are no arrests as of Monday, 18 May, and the investigation is ongoing. Police responded to a complaint about a felony assault that occurred on May 12, 2020 at approximately 00:03 a.m. at Briggs Avenue within the confines of the 52nd precinct. A 36-year-old male reported to police that he had a verbal argument with a 37-year-old male who punched and slashed the complainant in the face, causing a small laceration to the mouth area. The complainant was transferred to St. Barnabas Hospital by EMS. The suspect was taken into custody. Police are looking for a man who punched a shopkeeper at the CS 99 Cents Store & Plus in Norwood on April 28, before rushing out. The suspect entered the store at 368 E. Gun Hill Rd. at around 3:35 p.m., picked a pack of t-shirts and pay with what police say was a fake $20 bill.
