Highbridge: Woman Fatally Shot in Car, Man Shot in Leg

Police responded to a 911 call about a person who had been shot in front of 1125 University Avenue, in the Highbridge section of The Bronx, in the 44th precinct, on Monday, April 5, at approximately 10.12 p.m.   Upon arrival, officers observed two adult victims inside a late model Bentley, both having sustained gunshot wounds. UPDATE: Belmont Area: Two Men Shot, One Dead

On Sunday, April 4, 2021 at approximately 9.05 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about two male victims who had been shot in front of 2105 Monterey Avenue close to Belmont, in the 48th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest and a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head.   EMS responded to the location and transported both victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where the 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased, and the 31-year-old man remains in critical condition. A senior citizen remains in critical condition after trying to cross a busy highway on the Indian Village / Pelham Bay border. A three-alarm fire in the Woodlawn section of the Bronx has injured one firefighter and destroyed two businesses according to the FDNY.
