Police responded to a 911 call about a person who had been shot in front of 1125 University Avenue, in the Highbridge section of The Bronx, in the 44th precinct, on Monday, April 5, at approximately 10.12 p.m. Upon arrival, officers observed two adult victims inside a late model Bentley, both having sustained gunshot wounds. The first, a 39-year-old woman, the front seat passenger, sustained gunshot wounds to her neck and torso. On Sunday, April 4, 2021 at approximately 9.05 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about two male victims who had been shot in front of 2105 Monterey Avenue close to Belmont, in the 48th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest and a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS responded to the location and transported both victims to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where the 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased, and the 31-year-old man remains in critical condition. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
