Nine people have incurred non life-threatening injuries following a multiple vehicle accident on the Bronx River Parkway in Olinville. A Fordham Heights man has died following an apparent assault in Belmont. On Thursday, Feb. 25, at around 6.50 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been assaulted in front of 2308 Washington Avenue in the vicinity of Little Italy in Belmont, located in the 48th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 50-year-old man with trauma to the face and head. A 56-year-old man was stabbed during a verbal dispute over money by another man in the vicinity of East Fordham and Elm Place in Fordham Manor, in the 52nd precinct. Police responded to the incident on Saturday, June 5, at around 1.13 p.m. The victim said the dispute escalated and the suspect stabbed the victim in the back. EMS transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition. The suspect fled the location to parts unknown and the investigation remains ongoing. NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Commissioner Melanie E. La Rocca announced on Tuesday, June 1, that teams of DOB enforcement inspectors will be deployed across the five boroughs to perform safety sweeps on “the city’s larger and more complex construction sites,” to ensure they are safe for both workers and the public. A woman has been found dead on Jerome Avenue in University Heights. On Saturday, May 29, at around 6.27 a.m., police were alerted to a report of an unconscious female, lying in front of 2301 Jerome Avenue, in the 52nd precinct. A man has died following a fatal shooting in the vicinity of the Crotona neighborhood. Police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at the intersection of East 178th Street and Arthur Avenue in the 48th precinct on Tuesday, May 25, at around 6 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed the 31-year-old man had been shot multiple times in the torso during a dispute at the location.
