UPDATE: Slashing at Bronx Collaborative High School Leaves One Student Hospitalized

A student from Bronx Collaborative High School was hospitalized following a slashing incident which took place at the school on Wednesday. Sept. 15, after a dispute broke out between two students. Police later confirmed on Tuesday, Sept. 21, that a 15-year-old male was arrested on Sept. 20 in relation to the incident and has been charged with assault. A 22-year-old man is dead, and three others are wounded, including an 11-year-old boy following a shooting in Claremont Park. Police responded to a call on Saturday, Sept. 18, at approximately 11.13 p.m. regarding an assault that occurred inside Claremont Park in the vicinity of Teller Avenue and Mount Eden Parkway, located in the 44th precinct. A 26-year-old man is dead following a shooting in the Laconia section of the Bronx. On Saturday, Sept. 18, at approximately 10.35 p.m., police responded to a call regarding an assault which occurred inside 3400 Wickham Avenue, located in the 47th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 26-year-old man lying unconscious and unresponsive in the hallway with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. EMS responded and transported the victim to Jacobi Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. The name of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual seen in the attached video who is wanted for questioning regarding an alleged assault that occurred in the 52nd precinct. The NYPD recently confirmed a 41-year-old man died in a Norwood apartment. According to police spokeswoman, Detective Annette Shelton, officers from the 52nd precinct were called to 333 East 209th Street at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 21. Shelton said of the incident, “Upon arrival, a 41-year-old male was discovered unconscious, lying in the hallway of the location.” She added, “EMS responded and pronounced the male deceased.” The deceased man’s name was not immediately released as it was pending proper family notification. Bronx homicide detectives are working overtime this weekend after at least five people were shot, three fatally, in less than 24-hours. According to the NYPD, and as reported, the first incident was reported at 4:09 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 13, when officers from the 52nd precinct responded to a report of an assault inside 2550 Bainbridge Avenue. Police responded to a call about an assault inside 2550 Bainbridge Avenue, located in the 52nd precinct on Friday, Aug. 13, at approximately 4.09 p.m. Upon arrival, officers observed a 21-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, lying unconscious and unresponsive inside the location. EMS responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
