Reputed Gang Members / Associates Charged in Million-Dollar Fraud Scheme

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced Friday, Oct. 18, that eight alleged members or associates of the “Shiesty 66” gang were indicted for a bank fraud scheme that allegedly netted them over $10 million, following an investigation by her office’s investigations division, the NYPD, the U.S. Secret Service, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. 

Prosecutors Hold Gun Violence Summit at Fordham University

  With June marking Gun Violence Awareness Month, Prosecutors Against Gun Violence (PAGV), in partnership with the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA), held their annual conference for the first time in The Bronx, at Fordham University, in the jurisdiction and under the watchful eye of Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark, co-chair of PAGV, alongside City Attorney for Columbus, Ohio Zach Klein.   This year’s summit was centered on community restoration and gun violence prevention. Dinowitz Introduces Bill to Combat Concealment of Identity During Public Protests

Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) has introduced a new bill (A.10057A) to curb identity concealment in lawful assemblies, unlawful assemblies, or riots. According to Dinowitz, the bill addresses a concern that individuals hide their identities during public gatherings, evading accountability for their actions. He said the proposed legislation specifies exemptions for wearing personal protective equipment during declared public health emergencies, and attire worn for religious observance or customs.

North Central Bronx Hospital Unveils New Employee Wellness Room

NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx (NCB) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Jan. 24 as the public hospital unveiled a brand-new, employee wellness room. Jeremy Segall, assistant vice president of human experience at NYC Health + Hospitals said of the occasion, “The opening of the workforce wellness room is a pivotal moment for permanence of well-being across our system, to have a workforce wellness room where people can come to take time to connect with their own concrete needs.”
