UPDATE Bronx Community District 7 Residents Disappointed with Delays in CB7 Parks’ Budget Requests

Bronx Community Board 7 (CB7) Parks committee spent much of their September meeting discussing the district’s needs from a parks, recreation and cultural affairs perspective, in preparation for the City’s budget discussions next year. Since many of CB7’s capital and expense requests previously submitted last year to various city agencies have been pending for several years, some residents voiced their concern and frustration at the delays in actioning those requests.

UPDATE Bedford Park: Gas Rupture at 379 Bedford Park Blvd Results in 5 Minor Injuries, Gas Outages

Five people incurred minor injuries, according to FDNY officials, after a major emergency services response to a gas rupture was witnessed by residents at 379 Bedford Park Boulevard between Decatur Avenue and Webster Avenue in Bedford Park on Sunday, Sept. 22. Some gas outages are ongoing as a result and Con Ed said they were and will continue to be working to restore service to the affected residents and businesses throughout Sunday, overnight on Sunday, and into Monday.

Norwood: HPD Launches Housing Lottery Described as Affordable at 3056 Decatur Avenue

NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD) has launched a housing lottery described as affordable at 3056 Decatur Avenue, a four-story residential building in the Norwood section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. Designed by Node Architecture, Engineering, Consulting, and developed by Zef Perperpaj, the structure will yield nine residential units.

Driver Sought in Chain Reaction Crash 

Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who veered out of his lane and collided with a truck in Bedford Park. A second vehicle then plowed into the back of the truck.
