A 51-year-old man has been arrested following the shooting of a 34-year-old man in Wakefield. The man died following a gunshot wound to the head. As reported, police officials said that on Sunday, June 5, at approximately 8.39 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call about an aided man at Wilder Avenue and Cranford Avenue, within the confines of the 47th Precinct. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 34-year-old man inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the left side of his head. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance identifying an individual who is sought in connection to a pattern of robbery and criminal sex acts that occurred in the Laconia and Edenwald sections of the North Bronx. The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the unidentified people seen in the attached surveillance video who are sought in connection with a robbery and assault that occurred in Olinville. It was reported to police that on Saturday, April 30, at approximately 3.23 a.m., a man and a woman entered the Mobil Gas Station, located at 688 East Gun Hill Road in Olinville. The man approached the counter and requested to look at rolling papers [for tobacco] which were behind the counter.
