Moped Driver Sought in North Bronx Robbery Pattern

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached photo who they say is sought in connection to a robbery pattern identified across various North Bronx neighborhoods, involving all female victims, during July and August. 

UPDATE NYC EMS & Department of Health Issue Advisory to New Yorkers on How to Beat the Heat

NYC Emergency Management Department (EMS) and the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOH) are advising New Yorkers to take precautions to beat the heat following a heat advisory by the National Weather Service (NWS), from 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5, until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7. Hot and humid conditions are in the forecast from Tuesday to Thursday, with heat index values in the upper 90s across the City, according to NWS.

More than two dozen friends of Justin “Gusto” Gidora, 36, gathered at Indian Field in Van Cortlandt Park just after sunset on Saturday, July 22, to remember a good-natured and apparently troubled, young man who died under mysterious circumstances after being held in police custody, as previously reported.

Wakefield: 28-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot

A 28-year-old man has died following a fatal shooting in the Wakefield section of The Bronx.   Police said that on Thursday, July 6, at around 5.30 p.m., police received a 911 call regarding a man who was shot in front of 632 East 223rd Street. “EMS responded and transported the aided to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased,” a police spokesperson said. “There have been no arrests made and the investigation is ongoing.”   The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.   Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to
