Mt. Hope: Man Sought following Burglary of Residential Building

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photos who is sought in connection to a burglary that occurred in the Mt. Hope section of The Bronx.   It was reported to police that on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at approximately 4.40 p.m., an unidentified man entered a residential building located at 270 East Burnside Avenue and removed around 10 garbage bags containing miscellaneous items from the vestibule area.   “The male individual then fled on foot eastbound on East Burnside Avenue towards Valentine Avenue,” a police spokesperson said. “There were no injuries

UPDATE Fordham Heights: Man, 30, Shot in Chest on Valentine Avenue

  A 30-year-old man was shot in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx on Friday afternoon, Dec. 16, police said.   A police spokesperson told Norwood News the incident took place at about 2.30 p.m. on Friday, at 2314 Valentine Avenue. “We have a male shot in the chest and he was taken to St. Barnabas (Hospital),” the police spokesperson said. “The medical staff have determined that the victim had sustained a gunshot wound. UPDATE University Heights: Police Release Photos in Case of Fatal Shooting of Johnny Gaston

  POLICE RESPOND TO a shooting at 189 Burnside Avenue in University Heights on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022. Fordham Heights: Police Launch Murder Inquiry after Man, 28, is Fatally Shot

A 28-year-old man has died after being fatally shot in the Fordham Heights section of The Bronx, police said.   On Tuesday, Dec. 13, at around 00.28 a.m., police said officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation [technology that monitors the sound of gunshots] in the vicinity of 2171 Grand Concourse, located within the 46th Precinct.   A police spokesperson said, “Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the head in front of 2155 Grand Concourse.”   The spokesperson added, “EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital,

  The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating a 21-year-old man reported missing from the Morris Heights section of The Bronx.   Police said Jayson Cortez of 1551 University Avenue was last seen at around 10.55 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, leaving his home. A GoFundMe page has been set-up to support the family of fatal gun violence victim, Prince Shabazz 14, who, as reported, was fatally shot in Fordham Heights on Wednesday, Nov 30.   As reported, police spokesperson said the incident occurred at around 9.15 p.m. when officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a male who had been shot in front of 2249 Morris Avenue. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 14-year-old male [with] a gunshot wound to the torso,” the spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.”
