A 30-year-old emotionally disturbed resident of Bedford Park supportive housing has died following a police-involved shooting following a domestic violence incident at the victim's home. At least two family members had been stabbed prior to the shooting.
Four generations of my family were born in The Bronx. Arson has been cited as the cause of a commercial fire that ripped through seven small businesses on Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood between East 205th and East 206th Streets during the early hours of Tuesday, Oct. 10, police said.

A 12-year-old boy, Steven, saved his one-year-old baby sibling from a burning home that raged for over an hour on Nov. 20 in Bedford Park, aided by his 15-year-old best friend, Joshua, who lives next door, while firefighters responded to the blaze, the second of two residential fires, one fatal, to occur the same evening within the boundaries of Bronx Community District 7.
As is customary each year during the festive season, members of the 52nd Precinct joined Santa Claus as they traveled aboard their usual Holiday Float through some of the neighborhoods that fall within the boundaries of the precinct i.e. Bedford Park, Fordham, Kingsbridge, Norwood, Bronx Park, and University Heights on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

Kirsten Gillibrand unveiled her report analyzing initial successes arising from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA)’s anti-gun trafficking section and mental health funding distribution on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
