As reported in November 2023, plans to install the long-awaited elevators at Mosholu Parkway subway station, located at the border of Bedford Park and Norwood and which serves the 4 line, finally started to take shape in December 2022, when MTA officials said its board approved two contracts to advance ADA upgrades to the NYC Transit system under a public-private partnership (P3) delivery model, including Mosholu Parkway station.

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying the people seen in the attached video and photo, who they say are wanted in connection to a robbery pattern identified across the 52nd Precinct, which covers some or all of Bedford Park, Fordham, Kingsbridge, Norwood, Bronx Park, and University Heights.
Debate over the lack of swimming pools in The Bronx has been raging in recent years, a situation further exacerbated during the pandemic. Frustration was evident during recent summers when, on hot days, long lines were witnessed outside Van Cortlandt Park's renovated public swimming pool, while inside, only half the pool was open for safety reasons amid an ongoing lifeguard shortage.
An armed robbery that initially resulted in no physical injuries, and which took place in mid-February in the Fordham Manor section of The Bronx, has been reclassified by the NYPD as a homicide, after one of the victims later suffered a cardiac arrest and died.

Gibson delivered her 2nd Annual State of the Borough Address at Cardinal Hayes High School in the auditorium named after Bronx legend and Bronx Walk of Fame inductee Regis Philbin, on April 18, 2024. The borough president outlined major accomplishments that include an investment of over $35 million in education and over $8.9 million in capital allocations to public and private health facilities.
