The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is hosting Adopt a Shop workshops at the Bronx Library Center, room C-21, 310 E. Kingsbridge Rd., July 13, 27, and Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to noon., that would give New Yorkers the tools to successfully demand healthier food options at their food store. Bronx Notes: Youth Fitness Day Camp

The B’N’ Fit Urban Fitters Day Camp for teens shows them how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, and offers activities that include swimming, basketball, football, dancing, and daily trips. Campers can choose from a full summer session or one of two, three-week sessions. The first session runs from July 9 to 27, and the second session runs from July 30 to Aug. 17. Bronx Notes: PS/MS 20 Day Also Principal’s Retirement Party

PS/MS 20 invites the public to celebrate its children’s accomplishments at Barnes and Noble of Bay Plaza in Co-op City, 290 Baychester Ave., June 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cheerleaders and choruses will perform and activities will include chess and Lego building competitions, story time, and a talent show. We will also bid farewell to Principal Carol Carlsen, who will retire after 13 years at the school. Bronx Notes: VC Park Farmers Market Now Hiring Youth

Friends of Van Cortlandt Park are working in partnership with Inwood Go Green, and will be holding a Youth Operated Farmers Market Stand this summer. Every Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m., from July 10 to Aug. 28 in Van Cortlandt Park, located at 242nd Street and Broadway, stands will be selling fresh, locally-grown produce. They are looking to hire 14-20 year-olds to work the Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. All interested must be available the last week of June for training. Working papers will be required for 14-17 year olds. All applications are available at www.vancortlandt.org and are due by June 11.
