The search for Hannah Thomas, who has been missing for over one month, continues according to The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) which is working alongside the family as well as the Oxford Country Sheriff’s Office to locate the 15-year-old.

Thomas has been missing since Sunday, July 16, after leaving a friend’s home in Portland, Maine. Authorities have reason to believe that Thomas may be in New York City, over 300 miles away from her home.

Thomas’s mom, Amie Parker, is desperate to bring her daughter home safely. She hopes this message will reach her daughter, “Hannah, you are loved and wanted back home. Please reach out to anyone or contact us.” The family has not heard from Hannah since she disappeared, and their concern for her well-being grows each day.

Hannah was recently featured on Ring’s Neighbors app which has a partnership with NCMEC to increase awareness of missing children and bring them home. According to NCMEC, the app reaches millions of users, providing real time assistance in locating missing children.

If you have any information about Hannah or her disappearance, please contact NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) or the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office (Maine) at 1-207-743-9554.

Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Through our Breaking Bronx blog, we focus on news and information for those neighborhoods, but aim to cover as much Bronx-related news as possible. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts.
