With the presidential race, one of the more hotly contested presidential races in recent memory, upon us, the Norwood News is sending out a friendly reminder to vote. If you don’t know where to vote, here are some helpful resources:
- To get to know the positions of each of the presidential candidates, go to ontheissues.org. Or click here.
- For those who don’t know where to vote, check out this link courtesy of the New York City Board of Elections, which will look up your polling site for you. Hint: if you know your Assembly or Congressional district by memory, you can skip the long lines and just go to your designated voting line.
- Or check out this listing of polling sites from NYCBOE.
- Fearing efforts of voter intimidation and terror threats, the de Blasio administration is set to put one cop at every registered polling site in New York City.
- For those who feel there were some voter irregularities at a polling site, NYCBOE has a hotline for that. New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, who’s still investigating voter fraud claims across the state, says too has a hotline to report voter fraud. To make a report, call (800) 771-7755. “If voters encounter any barriers to voting or improprieties at the ballot box, call my office immediately,” Schneiderman said in a statement.
- After the polls close, check out this nifty site that tracks the unofficial numbers for the presidential race.
- The Bronx Democratic County Committee is looking for you to vote, and is offering rides to anyone who can’t make it to a polling site. If you need to schedule a ride, call (347) 281-9759.
Polls are open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m., giving everyone a chance to cast their ballot. With that said, go out and vote!
