The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the individuals and the vehicle seen in the attached video and photos, following a robbery on Grant Avenue, in the 44th precinct.
It was reported to police that on Wednesday Dec. 8, at approximately 1.42 a.m., in front of 1240 Grant Avenue, southwest of Claremont Park, the two individuals stopped their car in front of a 54-year-old male victim’s parked car while he was standing next to it.
They told the victim they were police officers and that his car had been reported stolen. One of them then knocked the victim to the ground, got into the driver’s seat of the victim’s car and drove off northbound on Grant Highway. The other man fled in his own vehicle, also northbound on Grant Highway. The victim’s car was later recovered in front of 1246 Cromwell Avenue in the Mt Eden section of the borough.
The suspects removed $2,200 in cash from the center console of the victim’s car. They are described as two Hispanic males.
Though not necessarily connected, as reported, police are investigating a breakfast-time home invasion and police impersonation in the Bronx’s Country Club neighborhood that occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 9. Police reported that suspects wearing NYPD gear tied up a man and a woman in their home and robbed them, before making their getaway.
