The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating a group of people seen in the attached video and photos who are sought for questioning in connection to a police impersonation robbery that occurred in Fordham Manor, located in the 52nd Precinct.
They are also requesting help from the public in relation to a similar police impersonation robbery that occurred in the Concourse section of the borough in May.
Police said that on Sunday, June 19, at around 3 a.m., in front of 261 East Kingsbridge Road in Fordham Manor, two unidentified people approached a 50-year-old male victim and identified themselves as police officers.
A police spokesperson said, “The individuals demanded drugs and money from the victim, and chased the victim, who surrendered an unknown amount of money.”
The NYPD added that the suspects fled the location in a white vehicle and that no injuries were reported.
Video and image stills of the location and the white getaway car are attached.
In addition, the NYPD said the agency is also seeking the public’s help to locate some unidentified people seen in some separate videos and photos, who are sought in connection with another police impersonation robbery that occurred in the Concourse section of the borough, located in the 44th Precinct.
Police said that on Friday, May 6, at around 6.10 p.m., inside a residential building located in the vicinity of East 165th Street and Grand Concourse, two unidentified people approached an apartment, and identified themselves to the tenants as police officers.

“The individuals proceeded to display firearms and a fraudulent warrant,” a police spokesperson said. “They handcuffed the victims, and removed approximately $24,000 from the tenants.”
The NYPD said no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Photos and video of the May incident are also attached.
In March, Norwood News reported on a separate police impersonation incident which also took place in Fordham Manor and last year, we reported on three separate police impersonation incidents in the borough, one in Morris Heights, another which occurred southwest of Claremont Park and a third which occurred in the Country Club section of The Bronx. We asked the NYPD at the time if there was any indication that this incident in March 2022 was related to any of the prior incidents, and were informed that the case was still under investigation.
Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at https://crimestoppers.
