MTA Weekend and Fourth of July Holiday Service Changes

The MTA has announced service changes for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.   The MTA has added weekend service on the , , and  lines. Starting this weekend, June 30, and every weekend going forward, average wait times for     trains will be reduced by up to 4 minutes, with  trains arriving every 8 minutes, and    trains arriving every 8-10 minutes (instead of every 10-12 minutes as before), meaning less time traveling.     Meanwhile, because of urgent track repairs,   trains aren’t running between Broad Channel and Far Rockaway all weekend, and are replaced by free shuttle buses. Kingsbridge: Tandem Trailer Stuck under Elevated Subway for Hours

  A tandem tractor-trailer recently got trapped under the elevated subway in Kingsbridge for several hours, as police and fire units blocked off traffic in the area and two dozen MTA employees attempted to free the truck with minimal damage to the subway line.   According to an unnamed MTA official, the incident took place at 10:42 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at the intersection of Broadway and West 231st Street. Bedford Park: 74-Year-Old Female Pedestrian in Critical Condition following Two-Vehicle Collision

Jerome Avenue Men’s Shelter Client Charged in Brooklyn Sex Attack

Elections 2023: Crime Rate Comparisons with Other Boroughs re the Bronx DA Democratic Primary Election

One of the points debated in the lead-up to the Democratic primary election for the position of Bronx district attorney, taking place on June 27 between incumbent Bronx District Attorney Darcel D.
