Bedford Park: Man Sought in Slashing of Food Vendor

The NYPD is appealing to the public for help, identifying and locating the person seen in the attached photos who they say is sought in connection with an assault that occurred in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx. 

Allerton Coops Art Exhibit Shows African American Histories of Early Bronx Interracial Housing Complex

In celebration of “Black August,” and as the first offering of a multi-year, research project at The Bronx County Historical Society, the Museum of Bronx History opened “The Allerton Coops, In Living Color” exhibit on Saturday, Aug. 12. According to representatives of the museum, the exhibit recovers the histories of African American and multiracial residents of the Allerton Coops, located at 2700 Bronx Park East, one of the earliest interracial housing complexes in The Bronx.

Friends Mourn Homeless Man Found in French Charley’s Park Believed Dead

Residents of Norwood are mourning the apparent but as yet unconfirmed death of a seemingly young homeless man known locally by some as “Kevin,” and affectionately nicknamed “Russia” by others, though one friend of Kevin said he believes he was actually from Bulgaria, not Russia.
