Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center Awarded Coveted Designation by National Cancer Institute

The newly renamed Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center (MECCC) has been awarded a comprehensive and coveted designation by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the National Institutes of Health. MECCC officials said the award is the ultimate standard achieved by only 55 other NCI cancer centers in the U.S.   MECCC officials said that through NCI’s peer-review process, it was nationally recognized for what was described as “its paradigm-shifting, practice-changing, policy-impacting cancer-focused science.” They said as a result, MECCC was awarded a five-year, $20 million cancer center support grant to advance what they said was the translation of novel cancer

Bedford Park: Police Appeal to Public for Help Locating 16-Year-Old Girl Reported Missing

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating a 16-year-old girl from Bedford Park, reported missing on Saturday, Sept. 23.   Police said Madison Miranda of 2871 Webster Avenue, The Bronx was last seen leaving her home on Saturday, Sept. 23, at around 11 a.m. They said she is described as being around 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 118 pounds, and has brown hair, braids and brown eyes. Marble Hill: Unconfirmed Reports of a Robbery at Target

  Users of the Citizens’ App posted on the platform on Sunday, Sept. 24, about an as yet unconfirmed report of a potential robbery at a Target store in Marble Hill the same day.   The posts began at around 11.45 a.m. on Sunday, and one post referred to a suspect described as wearing a black sweater with two white stripes on it and black pants with a belt which had a red tag on it, reportedly armed with a screwdriver, fleeing on foot toward Broadway.   Norwood News contacted the NYPD to corroborate if the incident was legitimate. Wakefield: Queens Man Arrested & Charged with Murder in 2020 Killing of Bronx Man
