St. Barnabas Hospital and the Belmont Business Improvement District will hold a street fair, “Picture a Healthier You,” which will include fun and healthy activities, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Crescent Avenue between Adams Place and Belmont Avenue. Events include blood pressure, mammography screenings, healthy cooking demos, exercises, raffles, and giveaways. University Neighborhood Housing Program (UNHP) will hold its free ViewsNWBX Affordable Housing Forum on June 15 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Serviam Gardens, 323 E. 198th St. to discuss Bronx happenings including community development, demographics, multifamily housing sales, and more. People Power Movement will perform guerrilla theatre to illustrate the criminality of negligent landlords and protest community displacement. The street performance and community speak out is on June 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Hunts Point Plaza, and June 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Graham Triangle. Free reading materials will be distributed. The performances are meant to dramatize the failure of the justice system to properly deal with landlords who disregard their tenants, many of whom are working poor and minorities.
