The New York Botanical Garden’s Farmers Market is scheduled to be held Wednesdays from June 13 through Oct. 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., just inside the Mosholu entrance and across the street from the Botanical Garden station of the Metro North commuter railroad. Also scheduled is the dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the NYBG’s state-of-the-art Edible Academy on June 14 and public opening weekend celebration with hands-on family activities on June 16 and 17 including touring and hands-on craft-making and planting for children. Wave Hill, a Bronx oasis at 675 W. 252nd St. in Riverdale, offers Family Art Projects: Paper Sky Lanterns, to sketch clouds and cut colorful tissue paper into sky scenes, then make lanterns using paper mache, June 9 and 10; and Pollinator Bats and Nocturnal Flowers, to paint nocturnal flowers in fluorescent colors, then make a furry paper puppet bat, June 16 and 17; both in the WH House from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also scheduled is Sunset Wednesdays: Live Music on the Great Lawn, western swing band, The Brain Cloud performs everything from ragtime jazz to Appalachian old-time fiddling, June 20 at 7 p.m. (rain or shine).
