Olinville: Robbery & Assault at Mobil Gas Station Leaves Cashier Unconscious

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the unidentified people seen in the attached surveillance video who are sought in connection with a robbery and assault that occurred in Olinville.

 

It was reported to police that on Saturday, April 30, at approximately 3.23 a.m., a man and a woman entered the Mobil Gas Station, located at 688 East Gun Hill Road in Olinville. The man approached the counter and requested to look at rolling papers [for tobacco] which were behind the counter.

 

When he attempted to leave the store without paying, a 63-year-old male employee/cashier locked the magnetic lock behind the counter at which point the male suspect jumped over the counter and hit the victim over the head with an unknown hard object, causing the cashier to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.

 

Both suspects then fled the store with a pack of rolling paper.

 

The victim was removed to Jacobi Hospital for his injuries in stable condition.

 

The male suspect was described as being around 25 years of age, is 6 feet tall, has a medium build, is light-skinned and was last seen wearing all black clothing and a black face mask.

 

The second suspect was described as female, is around 20 to 25 years of age, has a medium build, is dark-skinned, and was last seen wearing an orange hoodie, blue jeans and a face mask.

 

Surveillance video, obtained from the incident location, is attached.
