Olinville: HPD Launches Affordable Housing Lottery for Units at 3073 Barker Avenue

NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD) has launched an affordable housing lottery for units at 3073 Barker Avenue Apartments, an eight-story residential building in the Olinville section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY.

Designed by Dome Architecture and developed by Omni Build, the structure yields 25 residential units according to HPD. Available on NYC Housing Connect, HPD’s online portal, are 24 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $72,000 to $167,570.

According to HPD, at 130 percent of the AMI, there are seven studios with a monthly rent of $2,890 for those earning income ranging from $99,086 to $146,900; 12 one-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $3,059 for those on incomes ranging from $104,880 to $165,230; and five two-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $3,599 for residents with income ranging from $123,395 to $198,250.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments according to HPD, and applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Nov. 15.

To request an application by mail, send a self-addressed envelope to 3073 Barker Avenue Apartments, c/o Reside New York, 349 Keap Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211. Residents should only send one application per development, according to HPD and tenants are responsible for electricity, which includes hot water, heat, and stove.

The building is anticipated to receive a tax exemption through HPD’s 421a tax incentive program. No deposits or application fees apply. Click here for more information.
