Olinville: 33-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies following Road Accident

A 33-year-old man has died following a fatal road accident in the Olinville section of The Bronx, police said.

 

An NYPD spokesperson said that on Friday, June 16, at around 11.09 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision at East 217th Street and White Plains Road, within the confines of the 47th Precinct.

 

The spokesperson said that a preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was driving a 2017 Honda motorcycle traveling southbound on White Plains Road at East 217th Street when it collided with an elevated subway pillar and was ejected onto the roadway. The investigation remains ongoing by NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.

 

The deceased has been identified as Timothy Lopez, of East 217th Street, The Bronx.

 

For collision investigations, the NYPD handles all criminal aspects of the investigation, while NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) reviews the street design at the locations of these crashes.
