The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB) announced on Thursday, June 2, that it had released the official New York City voter guide for some of the June 2022 primary elections scheduled for Thursday, June 28. The guide is available online at NYCVotes.org and allows voters to look up the candidates on their ballot. Early voting for some primary elections starts on Saturday, June 18, and Election Day for some primary races is Tuesday, June 28.

The guide includes profile information for candidates on the ballot for the following elected offices:

  • Governor
  • Lieutenant Governor
  • State Assembly

The CFB also advised that due to a recent New York State court decision requiring districts for U.S. congress and State senate to be redrawn, primary elections for those offices will be held on August 23, 2022. CFB officials said the new voter guide does not include candidate profiles for local and party offices that may appear on some voters’ ballots. They added that, similarly, no candidate profiles are available for elected offices without competitive primary elections.

Board officials said voters can take the voter guide with them to vote by using the “My Ballot Plan” tool. They can add candidate profiles to the tool, and then email or print their candidate selections to take to the poll site. The voter guide is available to in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Bengali according to board officials, who also said the guide meets accessibility standards for users with disabilities.

In addition to the candidate listing, the voter guide provides tools for New Yorkers to learn more about the state Assembly and other local officesresearch their voter registration status, and get answers about their voting rights and eligibility. The voter guide is part of CFB’s NYC Votes initiative to increase participation in New York City elections. The CFB creates an online voter guide for all NYC elections.

NYC Votes is a nonpartisan voter engagement initiative of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC). In addition to promoting voter registration, participation, and civic engagement in New York City through its many programs and partnerships, NYC Votes sponsors the city’s official debate program and produces the citywide voter guides.

Register to vote here. The voter registration deadline for the June 28 primaries is Friday, June 3, 2022. See the full election cycle calendar here.
