Norwood: Woman Sought in Connection with Robbery at 205th Subway Station

 

The New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the woman shown in the attached surveillance video and photo who is wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred in the 52nd precinct / Transit District #11.

 

On Friday, Oct. 23, at approximately 3:35 p.m., a 28-year-old woman was at the mezzanine level of the 205th Street “D” line subway station closest to the 205th Street and Perry Avenue entrance, and was purchasing a MetroCard when an unidentified woman approached the victim and offered to open the gate for $2.

 

When the victim refused, the female assailant punched the victim in the neck and attempted to take her purse. After a brief struggle, the suspect removed the victim’s eyeglasses and jacket before fleeing on foot. The victim refused medical attention at the scene.

 

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned adult woman, approximately 6 feet, 1 inch tall, of thin build, has dark short hair, and was last seen wearing a black jacket, light blue jeans and a white face mask under the chin.

 

The attached surveillance video and photo of the suspect was obtained from the incident location and from 3156 Perry Avenue, after the incident.
