Police are searching for a teen who has not been seen since she walked out of a Norwood hospital on Friday.

Police said that a 16-year-old girl was last seen on Friday, Nov. 8, at around 1.15 a.m. inside The Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, located at 3415 Bainbridge Avenue, where she was seen wearing a black sweater, black pants, blue and black slippers and a pink hat. They said she is described as Black, female, is around 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs around 115 pounds, has a medium complexion, and has long, brown and pink braids.

A police official had earlier told Norwood News that the NYPD had begun searching for the missing teen early on Friday, Nov. 8, and on Friday night said the teen had “just left [the hospital] and [police] are still looking for her.” He added that she had run away on previous occasions.

At around 6:30 a.m. on Friday, the same police official said the NYPD had mobilized units around the area of 3927 Grace Avenue, near Seaton Falls Park, in the Edenwald section of The Bronx in search of the young girl. The official said police searched that particular area because “she’s known to hang out” there. No photo was available for her.

The investigation remains ongoing.

HIPPA rules prevent hospitals from speaking about any patient’s information.
