A man dressed in black and riding a blue fairly heavy looking motorbike up and down the path beside the running track in the Williamsbridge Oval in Norwood on Wednesday, April 12, while kids and seniors were playing / relaxing close by.
At different stages, as he was racing, the man elevated the bike at the front, balancing it just on its back wheel.
He slowed down when he saw us and asked us not to record him.
As reported, since Aug. 1, 2022, tickets are being issued to drivers who breach the 25 mph citywide speed limit by exceeding the posted speed limits by more than 10 mph. Speed cameras are now in operation 24/7/365.
Motorized bikes are not permitted in parks. Read our previous story published in 2022 on motorized scooters.
Dirt bikes and ATVs are also illegal to ride on all NYC roadways and sidewalks.
Additionally, if a scooter has an electric or gas motor with no vehicle ID number, then it is illegal and cannot be driven or sold. Violators could face fines and vehicles will be seized by police.
Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Through our Breaking Bronx blog, we focus on news and information for those neighborhoods, but aim to cover as much Bronx-related news as possible.
Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7.
The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts.
The Norwood News runs the Bronx Youth Journalism Heard, a journalism training program for Bronx high school students.

Those are the days the police is supposed to be out there when it’s very hot in the park. Everyone shows up. All they have to do is park in front of the entrance and know who’s coming in and out. Where was the park police? I remember when the police used to patrol every single day they would come in the park. Not anymore.

Thank you for recording and taking pictures. The driver needs to go somewhere else and take his bicycle (SIC) with him! These degenerates make it impossible to feel comfortable in NY anymore.
