UPDATE Norwood: Man Arrested for Stabbing on E 208th Street

The NYPD said they have arrested a man following an assault on a second man in Norwood earlier this month. Police had been asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person seen in the attached video and photos in connection with the incident.

 

They said that on Monday, March 10, at around 9.55 p.m. in front of 33 East 208th Street, a 32-year-old male victim got into a verbal dispute with an unidentified person who displayed a knife. They said the assailant stabbed the victim in the torso and then fled the location on foot, traveling southbound on Jerome Avenue to parts unknown.

“The victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition,” a police spokesperson added. Police said the suspect is described as male, has a dark complexion, and was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap, a dark-green, hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black sneakers.

 

On Tuesday, March 18, police said that pursuant to an ongoing investigation, Victor Andino, 57, of Norwood was arrested within the confines of the 52nd Precinct. They said he was charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

He is presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
