Norwood: Man Assaulted by Two Others Near French Charley’s Playground

A 30-year-old man was assaulted in Norwood on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, Dec. 24, police said.

 

An NYPD spokesperson said the assault took place at around 7.15 p.m. [in French Charley’s Park/Bronx Park East] at the intersection of East 204th Street and Webster Avenue, when the victim was walking past the playground.

 

They said two unidentified males began to attack the victim with sharp objects and the victim sustained minor lacerations. They said he went to Montefiore Medical Center in Norwood for treatment in stable condition. Police said there are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.

 

As reported, the body of a man believed to be missing and homeless was found previously in French Charley’s Park in August 2023.
