Norwood: Man Arrested in Jerome Avenue Assault

Police were called to Jerome Avenue and East 208th Street in the Norwood section of the Bronx for a reported assault at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2021.

Amid the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, officers from the 52nd precinct swooped in and arrested a man for an assault with a pocketknife in Norwood.

A police source said an unidentified victim was treated at the scene of an assault at Jerome Avenue and East 208th Street in the Norwood section of the Bronx, for a laceration to the lip, on Wednesday, November 30, 2021.

Offering few details of the incident, after a preliminary investigation, an NYPD source reported that the assault took place at the northwest corner of Jerome Avenue and East 208th Street in Norwood, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

The police source said Charles Perkins, 62, was arrested at the scene and charged with assault, menacing and possession of a weapon, a pocketknife. The unidentified victim was treated at the scene for a “minor” laceration to the lip.

A person arrested for a crime is innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
