A new affordable housing lottery has launched for units at 3508 Tryon Avenue, a seven-story, residential building in the Norwood section of The Bronx. Designed by Tabriz Group Design, and developed by Peter Persuad, the structure yields 24 residential units, as reported by YIMBY.
Available on NYC Housing Connect, NYC Department of Housing, Preservation & Development (HPD)’s online portal, are eight units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $54,858 to $167,570.
According to NYC Housing Connect, amenities include assigned parking spaces, storage, security cameras, gated access, and package lockers.
Units come equipped with name-brand appliances and finishes, air conditioning, high-speed internet, and energy-efficient appliances.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are four one-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $1,600, for incomes ranging from $54,858 to $139,620, and four two-bedroom units with a monthly rent of $1,850, for incomes ranging from $63,429 to $167,570.
Tenants are responsible for electricity, including electric heat, hot water and stove.
The building is anticipated to receive a tax exemption, through the 421a tax incentive program of HPD.
According to NYC Housing Connect, no deposits or application fees apply, though HPD officials add that fees may apply to some amenities. More information is available at https://iaffordny.com/.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments, and applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than Feb. 21, 2022.
