The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the people seen in the attached video and photos who they say are sought in connection with a gang assault and stabbing that occurred in Norwood.
Police said that on Monday, April 29, at around 1.37 p.m., the victim, a 40-year-old man, was in front of 3300 Kossuth Avenue when he attempted to intervene in an altercation between a group of four males and another unidentified male with whom the victim had been playing basketball.
They said when the male who was being targeted by the group [and the victim] fled the location, the group of four became agitated and proceeded to chase the victim, knocking him to the ground.
They said the group then began to punch, kick, and stab the victim multiple times in the back before eventually fleeing the location on foot to parts unknown.
“The victim was removed to NYC Health and Hospitals/North Central Bronx by private means and then transferred to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition,” a police spokesperson said.
Police said the individuals being sought were all described as male, had medium to dark complexions, and were estimated to be between 18 and 25 years of age. The victim’s companion was uninjured they said.
