Norwood: Father and 11-Month-Old Baby Girl Located Unharmed

Police said a 26-year-old father who they had been searching for in the Norwood section of The Bronx, along with his 11-month-old daughter, have been located and are unharmed.

Police said that at around 10.14 p.m. amid a custodial interference incident, officers were called to 3182 Rochambeau Avenue in Norwood and a search got underway for both father and daughter. They said the baby was reported to have been in a stroller at the time of her disappearance.

Norwood News witnessed a helicopter over the general Norwood area from around 12.30 a.m. It appeared to be circling the area, though it is unclear if it was part of the search efforts or not.

At 1.47 a.m., police confirmed that both father and baby were located and were unharmed.

Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts.
