Building applications have been filed with New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) for a new, 8-story, mixed-use building at 3547 Webster Avenue in the Norwood section of The Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. Located between East Gun Hill Road and Woodlawn Cemetery, the lot is near the Gun Hill Road subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Yoel Landau is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 85-foot-tall development will yield 73,121 square feet, with 59,895 square feet designated for residential space, 7,742 square feet for community facility space, and 5,484 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 88 residential units, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 680 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 26 enclosed parking spaces.

Genaro Ureta Inc. is listed as the architect of record. Demolition permits have not yet been filed for the existing structure and an estimated completion date for the new building has not yet been announced.

Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Through our Breaking Bronx blog, we focus on news and information for those neighborhoods, but aim to cover as much Bronx-related news as possible. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts. The Norwood News runs the Bronx Youth Journalism Heard, a journalism training program for Bronx high school students.
