Building applications have been filed with NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) for a new, 4-story, residential building at 3046 Decatur Avenue in the Norwood section of The Bronx, as reportedby YIMBY. Located between East Mosholu Parkway North and East 204th Street, the lot is within walking distance of Norwood subway station, serviced by the D train.

Lin Kumbullaj of Kiri Construction Corp. is listed as the owner behind the applications according to YIMBY.

The outlet reported that the proposed 37-foot-tall development will yield 5,885 square feet, designated for residential space and the building will yield nine residential units, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 653 square feet.

The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar according to YIMBY, and a 55-foot-long rear yard, and four enclosed parking spaces.

Badaly Architects is listed as the architect of record. Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant, and an estimated completion date for the new structure has not yet been announced.

Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Through our Breaking Bronx blog, we focus on news and information for those neighborhoods, but aim to cover as much Bronx-related news as possible. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts. The Norwood News runs the Bronx Youth Journalism Heard, a journalism training program for Bronx high school students.
