Building applications have been filed to expand a 2-story structure into a 5-story residential building at 3537 Bainbridge Avenue in the Norwood section o the Bronx, as reported by YIMBY. Located between East Gun Hill Road and East 212th Street, the lot is near the Woodlawn subway station, serviced by the 4 train. Isaac Kritzler is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 50-foot-tall development will yield 18,992 square feet designated for residential space, according to YIMBY. The building will have 44 residential units, most likely condos, based on the average unit scope of 432 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a 31-foot-long rear yard, 13 open parking spaces, and 2 enclosed parking spaces.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the permits call for an expansion, and an estimated completion date for the expanded property has not been announced.

Welcome to the Norwood News, a bi-weekly community newspaper that primarily serves the northwest Bronx communities of Norwood, Bedford Park, Fordham and University Heights. Through our Breaking Bronx blog, we focus on news and information for those neighborhoods, but aim to cover as much Bronx-related news as possible. Founded in 1988 by Mosholu Preservation Corporation, a not-for-profit affiliate of Montefiore Medical Center, the Norwood News began as a monthly and grew to a bi-weekly in 1994. In September 2003 the paper expanded to cover University Heights and now covers all the neighborhoods of Community District 7. The Norwood News exists to foster communication among citizens and organizations and to be a tool for neighborhood development efforts. The Norwood News runs the Bronx Youth Journalism Heard, a journalism training program for Bronx high school students.
