On Friday, Oct. 9, 2020 at approximately 8 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who was stabbed at the corner of Jerome Avenue and East Gun Hill Road, within the confines of the 52nd precinct.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 29-year-old man who had sustained a stab wound to his chest. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. The investigation remains ongoing.

The following video was posted to the Citizen’s app by a user at the location.

The deceased has been identified as Marvin Duchenne, 29, of Kossuth Avenue, Bronx, NY.

On Nov. 4, the NYPD said that Omar Key, 46, of West 142nd Street, New York, NY was arrested and charged with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.

An arrest is not proof that a person is guilty of a crime.
