Police have confirmed that two people have been arrested and charged with attempted murder regarding a non-fatal shooting that occurred inside a barber shop in Norwood in October.
As reported, the NYPD had been seeking the public’s assistance identifying two individuals seen in the attached surveillance video who were sought for questioning regarding the non-fatal shooting in Norwood, located in the 52nd precinct.
On Friday, Oct. 22, at approximately 6.45 p.m. inside a barber shop located at 250 East Gun Hill Road, a 22-year-old male victim was sitting in a barber chair when the two unidentified individuals entered the shop.
Once inside, one of the two shot the victim, striking him in the stomach, at which time he passed the firearm to the other assailant who proceeded to shoot the victim in the leg. They both then fled the location, on foot, northbound towards Kings College Place.
There were no further injuries reported. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi where he was listed in stable condition.
Police reported that the first assailant was described as a male with a slim build and medium complexion who was last seen wearing a black balaclava, white t-shirt, a black, long-sleeve shirt, dark-colored pants and white sneakers. The second assailant was also described as a male with a slim build and medium complexion who was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and white sneakers.
A surveillance video, taken from the incident location, which shows the two suspects is attached.
According to Google Maps, also listed at the same address are Joy Nail Care, New Pink Nail Salon, Blessed Kids Group Family Day Care, and First Step Family Group Daycare Center (Suite 1H).
On Friday, Nov. 19, pursuant to an ongoing investigation, police confirmed that on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 8.15 a.m., an unnamed 17-year-old was arrested and charged with attempted murder in the 52nd precinct.
Police further confirmed on the same date that on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 8.50 p.m., Brandon Beltres, an 18-year-old male from Adee Avenue in the Allerton section of the Bronx was also arrested and charged in the 52nd precinct with attempted murder, assault and reckless endangerment
A person charged with a crime is innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
