New York Lottery: Several Winning Tickets Sold in The Bronx in August & September

The New York Lottery announced Saturday, Sept. 30, one top-prize winning ticket was sold for the Sept. 29 TAKE 5 midday drawing. Lottery officials said the ticket, worth $18,865. was sold at SHS News Inc., located at 3056 Buhre Avenue in the Pelham Bay section of The Bronx.

 

Lottery officials previously announced other winning tickets sold in The Bronx in recent months. They said a top-prize winning ticket worth $19,013 was sold for the Aug. 26 TAKE 5 midday drawing at 24 Deli Grocery Inc., located at 1801 Williamsbridge Road in the Morris Park section.

 

Meanwhile, earlier in September, they said another top-prize winning ticket worth $38,083 was sold for the Sept. 2 TAKE 5 evening drawing at 170th Street Grocery, located at 160 East 170th Street  in the Mt. Eden section of the borough.

 

Lottery officials said a further top-prize winning ticket worth $17,244 was sold for the Sept. 18 TAKE 5 midday drawing at MTR Grocery Corp., located at 760 East 187th Street in Belmont.

 

Separately, lottery officials announced on Sept. 17, that a third-place, prize-winning ticket was sold for the Sept. 16 Powerball drawing at Kingsbridge Tobacco & Convenience Store, located at 271 East Kingsbridge Road in Fordham Manor, worth $50,000.

 

Lottery officials said the winning numbers for the Powerball game are drawn from a field of one to 69, and the red Power Ball is drawn from a separate field of one to 26. They said the Powerball drawing is televised every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10.59 p.m.

 

TAKE 5 players with midday and evening draws on the same ticket should check their numbers at nylottery.ny.gov to determine if they have the winning numbers for the corresponding midday or evening drawing.

 

Lottery officials said the TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39, and the drawing is televised twice daily at 2.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. They said the lottery draw game prize of any amount may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.

 

New York Lottery officials say the lottery continues to be North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, contributing $3.59 billion in fiscal year 2020-21 to help support education in New York State.
