Canned Food Drive

Heating Assistance
Sign up to receive free heating assistance through the New York State Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). Eligible households can receive assistance of up to $725. Public Engagement Workshops
The Mayor’s Tenant Support Unit will hold a workshop on tenant rights on Dec. 14 at UNHP Refuge House, 2715 Bainbridge Ave., from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The unit works with those who may be at risk of displacement, experiencing landlord harassment, needs a rent freeze for those who qualify, and other resources. Toy Drive
The Office of Councilman Andy King is accepting new toys for its 11th annual “Sharing is Caring” toy drive collection for young Bronx residents. Toys must be new, unwrapped, and appropriate for children ages 18 and under. Donations can be dropped off at 940 E. Gun Hill Rd. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, through Dec. 21. Dance Scholarships
The Dance Studio at Bronx House, 990 Pelham Pkwy., So., offers full year scholarships to 10 students in grades 3 to 5 for comprehensive dance training. To apply, parents must schedule a mandatory interview with the dance administration. Interviews are currently being scheduled for the weeks of Dec. 12 to 15 and Jan. 9 to 12, 2018. Coat Giveaway
